I have had the opportunity to do weddings at a lot of different types of venues over the years. And to be honest, my least favorite have been barn venues. They are usually in inconvenient locations, they can lack amenities, sometimes smell funny, and overall aren't my favorite style. HOWEVER, I have found the barn venue that has been the exception and has far exceeded my expectations over the past few years. White Barn Estate in La Grande, OR checks off so many of the things I look for in a good venue. The location is convenient, the amenities exceed what I would want in a venue, there is no funky smell, and the style is an elevated elegant version of a barn setting. They also have added on a more modern industrial vibe building (Studio 1864) that is perfect for smaller receptions and gatherings. It is truly a beautiful setting with so many different possibilities and looks!

As a photographer, I value spaces that are versatile so much. Part of my job is taking an area and figuring out how I can create something new and something visually interesting for each client and still make it personal and unique to that client. With this space, that can easily be done because there are so many options!

I will conclude this with also letting you know that the staff that work for White Barn are top notch. That, maybe above anything else, will impact your overall experience with a venue. A space can be beautiful, but if the people are horrible or hard to work with- that may be what you remember the most about the experience.
